General Adult
Treatment
1.
Acute Episode
Paracetamol 1 g or Ibuprofen 400 mg. If severe/not responding: Diclofenac 75 mg IM + Metoclopramide 10 mg IM/IV. Alternatively, Ergotamine 2 mg sublingual or Sumatriptan 50 mg.
2.
Prophylaxis (>3 attacks/month)
Amitriptyline 10-75 mg nocte OR Propranolol 40-80 mg every 12 hours.
