Nephrotic Syndrome — Uganda (General Adult population)
Diet & Diuresis
Restrict salt (<2 g daily) and water. Furosemide 40-80 mg each morning to induce diuresis.
Corticosteroids
Prednisolone 2 mg/kg daily (max 60 mg). Continue until no further proteinuria (around 6 weeks), then gradually taper down over 4 weeks.
Schistosomiasis Endemic Area
Praziquantel 40 mg/kg single dose.
