Otitis Media — Uganda (Pediatric population)
Acute Infection (Pain/Pus <14 days)
Amoxicillin 15 mg/kg per dose (or 500mg for adults) every 8 hours for 5 days.
Chronic Infection (Pus >14 days)
Systemic antibiotics NOT recommended. Dry by wicking 3 times daily. Apply Ciprofloxacin ear drops 0.5% after drying.
Pain Relief
Paracetamol as required.
