Eclampsia — Uganda (Pregnant Women population)
Acute Seizure
Left lateral position, protect airway. DO NOT restrain. Give Magnesium Sulphate loading dose (4g IV + 10g IM).
Magnesium Toxicity
If RR <16, urine <30ml/hr, or no reflexes: Give Calcium Gluconate 1 g (10 ml of 10%) slow IV.
Blood Pressure
Hydralazine 5 mg IV every 30 mins to keep diastolic <100 mmHg.
Delivery
Fastest delivery (vaginal or C-section) within 6-12 hours.
