General Adult
Treatment
1.
Instruction
Surgically insert subdermally in upper arm. Effective for 3-7 years depending on type (Implanon, Jadelle, etc.).
2.
Side Effect: Irregular/Heavy Bleeding
Ibuprofen 400–800 mg every 8 hours for 5 days. If persists, give 1 COC pill daily for 21 days.
3.
Infection at site
Do not remove implant. Clean with soap/water. Give oral Amoxicillin 500 mg 8 hourly for 7-10 days.
4.
Warning Signs
Heavy vaginal bleeding, severe chest pain, or pus/pain at insertion site. Return to clinic immediately.
