Rheumatoid Arthritis — Uganda (General Adult population)
Acute Flare (Pain/Inflammation)
Rest affected joints. Ibuprofen 400 mg every 8 hours OR Diclofenac 50 mg every 8 hours OR Indomethacin 50 mg every 8 hours. Consider Omeprazole 20 mg for gastroprotection.
Severe Acute Inflammation
Prednisolone 5-10 mg once daily in the morning.
Disease Modifying (Specialist)
Refer to specialist for DMARDs (e.g., Methotrexate, Chloroquine).
