Sickle Cell Disease — Uganda (Pediatric population)
Prophylaxis (0-5 years)
Phenoxymethylpenicillin 125 mg twice daily + Folic acid 2.5-5 mg daily.
Fever
Treat as medical emergency. Broad-spectrum antibiotics (e.g. Ceftriaxone) if bacterial infection suspected.
