BAI: A 21-item inventory specifically designed to measure clinical anxiety with minimal overlap with depressive symptoms.

Scoring Logic

The BAI consists of 21 items, each describing a physical or cognitive symptom of anxiety. Each item is rated from 0 (Not at all) to 3 (Severely). Total score ranges from 0 to 63.

Interpretation

0–7 pointsMinimal anxiety
8–15 pointsMild anxiety
16–25 pointsModerate anxiety
26–63 pointsSevere anxiety
