Minimum Criteria (Empiric Tx)
["Empiric treatment for PID should be started in sexually active/at-risk women if one or more of the following are present on pelvic exam:","1. Cervical Motion Tenderness","2. Uterine Tenderness","3. Adnexal Tenderness"]
Additional Criteria (Supportive)
["Oral temp >101°F (>38.3°C).","Abnormal cervical mucopurulent discharge.","Abundant WBCs on saline microscopy of vaginal fluid.","Elevated ESR or CRP.","Laboratory documentation of cervical infection (GC/CT)."]

Outpatient Regimen
["Ceftriaxone 500 mg IM x 1 PLUS","Doxycycline 100 mg PO BID x 14 days PLUS","Metronidazole 500 mg PO BID x 14 days (Recommended to cover anaerobes)."]
Inpatient Indications
["Surgical emergencies cannot be ruled out (e.g., appendicitis).","Tubo-ovarian abscess.","Pregnancy.","Severe illness, nausea/vomiting, or high fever.","Failure of outpatient oral therapy."]
