When to Use
The Memphis Criteria are utilized to screen high-energy blunt trauma patients for Blunt Cerebrovascular Injury (BCVI). BCVI involves non-penetrating injury to the carotid or vertebral arteries, which can lead to devastating ischemic stroke if not identified and treated early with antithrombotics.

In clinical practice, this assessment is frequently evaluated alongside other validated measures. Depending on the patient's presentation and specific diagnostic requirements, you may also need to utilize the Denver Criteria Bcvi, Expanded Denver Criteria Bcvi, or the Bcvi Grading to formulate a comprehensive care plan.
