When to Use

Clinical Use

Baseline assessment of liver reserve in patients with newly diagnosed HCC.
Predicting overall survival in patients undergoing liver-directed therapies (TACE, ablation).
Selecting patients for clinical trials where objective liver function measurement is required.

Related Scores in Practice

In clinical practice, this assessment is frequently evaluated alongside other validated measures. Depending on the patient's presentation and specific diagnostic requirements, you may also need to utilize the BCLC 2022 Staging (HCC), mRECIST (HCC) or the Child-Pugh Score (Liver) to formulate a comprehensive care plan.
