When to Use

Advanced prognostication in patients with Primary Myelofibrosis (PMF) by incorporating cytogenetics and transfusion status.

Refining the DIPSS score when karyotype and clinical transfusion data are available.

Identifying patients with "very high" risk who require immediate aggressive intervention.

Patient Population

Patients with Myelofibrosis (Primary or Post-ET/PV) who have undergone cytogenetic testing.

When Not to Rely on This Score Alone

If cytogenetics are unavailable or failed — use the standard DIPSS instead.

In patients with myelofibrosis secondary to other disorders (e.g., CML) — the score is not validated in these contexts.

To predict response to ruxolitinib — prognosis and drug response are largely independent in MF.
