DRI (Disease Risk Index)

The DRI combines Disease Type, Disease Status at transplant (e.g., CR1 vs. Active), and Cytogenetics (for AML/MDS) to assign a risk category.

The DRI is notably independent of patient age, performance status, and donor type, making it a "disease-pure" prognostic instrument.

Developed by the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute group and validated using the CIBMTR database. It replaced multiple heterogeneous systems to provide a unified transplant prognostic framework.
